Mashupciti Weekly round up .5

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Friday is here again and boy did this come up on me fast! I’ve been so busy playing around with new widgets ( you may have noticed the soundcloud drop box on the left! ) for this site and also working on the NEW MASHUPCITI site. That’s right, a new one. Similar in concept but trying to create a coding mashup of my own. We’ll see how that all goes, but in the mean time I’d like to share some more great sites with ya.

Divide & Kreate is a great place to find some really killer high quality mashups! Who ever, he/they are, they are bursting with all kinds of mashup/bootleg goodness.

The Kleptones are a bit new to me, but wow do they just kick it. They got them some talent I tells ya.

The Global DJ Network is a great place for producers and DJ to go and get some valuable feedback on tracks from highly qualified and experienced bastards…err..Producers! Lots of great stuff here, forums podcasts, featured mashups, etc. A must see!

The Hood Internet is the HOOD OF THE INTERNETS! Your hub caps will be stoled, you pocket picked, your gold chain around your neck will be admired in it’s new owners hands while you’re laying in a gutter with a cap busted in your ass. It’s all worth it though to get some tastey mashup treats for your ears!

Okiedokie, round 4 is off and running! Kicking things off right and proper…

Party Ben. A legened in his own mind and “The dumbest name in showbiz”, Party Ben has some KILLER mashup and that you must have a look at. It’s not a party without Party Ben (cheesy, I know).

BootMash is a no BullSh*t straight up listing of mashups! Very sleek and simple interface that is simple to use. With an archive going back to 2004, you can find lots of great stuff here!

Tokyo Stage is a great little music site that is actually a coding mashup. Integrating a bunch of great API’s, you can see the top music charts for the US, Europe, Japan and Korea!

DJ Lobsterdust is a really talented mashup producer. With the amount of mashups being cranked out, I wonder if this is all he does. Don’t matter to me though, as long as I get me my Lobster fix, I’m happy.

Into the 3rd week! Lets get busy!

Mashup Industries is the epicenter of some serious mashup goodness. Featuring smoking hot talent such as Clivester, Krazyben and DJ Schmolli, the music here is always top notch.

Mashuptown is a MAJOR conecting point for all music mashups. They also have a very usefull forum where producers post working mashups and final bootlegs!

Acapellas4U. Need an acapella? You just may be able to find it here! A good resource for an DJ. Some really good write ups on how to make em as well.

Mashup:: Starting Is Easy. This is owned and mainted (ish) by Simon Iddol. This is a good link repository of lots and lots of mashup related sites.  You are going to find something interesting here.

Week 2! Here are the weekly mashup round sites! Enjoy!

Mashup Charts

Near and dear to my heart, mashup charts is a great place to check out the hottest and latest video mashups, and vote for em! Really great site that I spend entirely WAY to much time on. Shame on me!

CCC

CCC Mashups date back to 2006! There are some real gems in this archive. Sadly, it has been a while since it’s been updated, but it is still a good little corner to check out some good mashups!

Mad Disco

Is a great mashup feature blog being supplied with gooey mashupable goodness from the likes of Bobby Martini, Simon Idol, Phil Retrospector and many more!

SeeqPod

This is a really fantastic music search tool I use sometimes. You can find all kinds of great stuff on here, including mashups! The player is simple, easy to use and effective. I really dig it.

Just doing a link round up of some good mashup sites to check out. So links to producers, communities, Djs, events, whatever.

  • Bootiesf. This is a great site to go and check out upcoming mashup events/parties in the San Fransisco area. They feature some great news items, videos and pictures from previous shows on the site. A must see for all.
  • G3RSt is one of my favorite mashup producers right now. He comes out with some great tunes that are a lot of fun. Check out his archives for quality mashups!
  • Phil Retrospector makes me stand back in awe and wonder when he drops a mashup. From a truly eclectic mashup style, there are all kinds of interesting tidbits within these mashups.
  • Apollo Zero was an early mashup producer I stumbled across. There is always some great mashups coming from his neck of the binary woods. Definitely check out his site.
