Feedback inside the robots

This is really sweet. Just got this hot off the….email. From Qubic comes;

“The inspiration for this mashup came to me when I was listening to Come Inside by The Thompson Twins. At the 1:49 mark in the song, I heard the 4-measure sample of the intro from The Robots by Kraftwerk hidden as a faint background layer in the first lull of the song. I scoured the rest of the song for other Kraftwerk samples, and that was the only sample tucked away in the song. The sample was also left unaltered… Come Inside is slightly slower than The Robots, and the speed of the sample was left at its original speed. So the sample in the Thompson Twins song is actually slightly OOT (out of time) and slightly off beat in order to “fit in”.” Read more here…

I swear I hear a Transformer transforming in this…..

The Thompson Twins vs. Kraftwerk

Revy started MashupCiti in 2007 out of pure greed and laziness in an attempt to acquire as many mashups as possible. Lover of all things bizarre and silly, Revy may be a genius or just a regular guy. It's sometimes hard to tell.

    Transformer transforming?! In my song?!

    I was wondering what you might be referring to, then I realized it might be the “robot rock” vocal snippet taken from “Robot Rock” by Daft Punk with some added reverb/delay/distortion.

    But you might be onto something interesting :)

    man, this is a good tune. This got me to thinking, an 80s cartoon mashup revival! yay! The Smurfs, He-Man, Mighty Mouse, Transformers, GI JOE, there could be lots of great ones!
