I am a huge fan of Sly and the Family Stone so this mashup makes me especially happy. I am trying to think of more to say about this other than it’s really good, at the same time I’m pretty much vibrating and seeing double for all the coffee, chocolate and sugar I have had today at work. In fact, I think I may be having some kind of panic attack, or sugar attack or something. Hard to breath. So listening to this tune is helping me cope and deal with this odd moment in time.

A new stellar track from Beatmixed! This newest mashup the instrumental of the Scissor Sisters “Lights” mashed with Mims “I did you wrong”, the Beatles “Come together” and finally Pink Floyd “Another Brick in the Wall”. WOW! That was a mouthful! To quote Beatmixed, “The Lights track has a great disco feel to it and the horns in it make for a great call-and-response interaction with the Mims’ vocals. The real pay-off comes at the end when the Beatles and Pink Floyd join in during the final chorus.” And just to top things off, this track is featured on the very popular Scissor Sister fan site www.idontfeellikedancin.com. Nice!

Here is something a bit different from our usual posts here. From Operadogpro come this fantastic video mashup! This is a real funky track with a real funky video to match! There is something very “right” about putting the oddities of the Eurythmics 80’s artsy videos mashed with the chemically induced raving Chemical Brothers. They somehow meet in the middle to make a happy ending for everyone. Yay to happy times!

What can I say about this track? I laughed. I laughed hard. It’s probably cause the track just sounds so damn jolly. They are so happy to, well, you should have a listen yourself. Just to be warned, this is NSFW as there is some colourful language herein. So this is the first XXXmas track to grace Mashupciti! Nice.
